Dedication, practical thinking and craftsmanship since 1991
Our story began with a friendship, a shared enthusiasm for mechanics and the ambition to build something of our own.
Torsten Bahls and Steffen Milster had known each other since school. They also trained together as agricultural machinery and tractor mechanics. Although their careers initially took different paths, their enjoyment of hands-on mechanical work kept them connected.
Repair jobs carried out together after work led to the founding of a business in Milmersdorf in 1991. Since then, we have built, overcome setbacks and continued to develop. Today, motorhomes, campervans and caravans are at the centre of our work.
An idea became a shared journey
The development of Milster & Bahls has not always followed a straight path. Teamwork, practical solutions and the willingness to start again helped us move forward.
Our own workshop in Milmersdorf
After their first joint projects in a garage, Torsten Bahls and Steffen Milster decided to establish a business. They opened their workshop in a former warehouse in Milmersdorf.
While Steffen Milster worked towards his master craftsman qualification, the two founders developed the business. A successful start and investment in equipment helped build its reputation in the surrounding area.
Giving up was not the answer
In August 1992, a fire completely destroyed the former warehouse. It was a major setback for both founders, but they decided to carry on.
With help from local businesses and many friends, a temporary workshop was established in a short time. A site trailer served as the office, and a recovery truck was used as a lift. Resourcefulness and working together made a fresh start possible.
Milestones in our development
Master craftsman qualification
Steffen Milster successfully completed his master craftsman training. The business was entered in the German crafts register as a master craftsman business and joined the motor vehicle trade guild.
A new location
A new sales pavilion was built in Milmersdorf's business park, creating the foundation for further development at the new premises.
More space for service
A new workshop was added to the site, allowing sales and workshop services to develop further at the same location.
A focus on leisure vehicles
Motorhomes, leisure vehicles and caravans became increasingly important. The business developed around this specialisation and subsequently became Milster & Bahls GmbH.
Working together and finding a way forward
Rebuilding after the fire remains an important part of our story. It reminds us how much personal support and shared effort can achieve. That experience still shapes our approach: listening, thinking practically and agreeing on the next step together.

We have been developing our work with motorhomes and caravans since 2008. Today, we focus on leisure vehicle sales and support, together with services relating to buying, selling and workshop care.
