A chip in your motorhome windscreen? Have the damage assessed.
A damaged window raises immediate questions: Can it be repaired? Will it need replacing? And how can you arrange the workshop visit?
At Milster & Bahls GmbH, we help you assess glass damage on your motorhome. We consider the affected window, the location of the damage and its extent. We then discuss the possible work and the next steps with you.
We distinguish between cab glazing and windows in the living area. Please identify the affected window when you enquire so we can establish whether we can offer the required service for your motorhome.

Which approach suits the damage?
The size of a chip alone is not enough to promise a repair. The specific glazing and the nature of the damage need to be assessed.
Repairing the existing glass
Glass repair may be an option for suitable damage. First, however, the damage and the affected glazing need to be checked to establish whether repair is appropriate.
We explain the proposed approach and the expected result. We do not promise a completely invisible repair. The scope of work is agreed only once the damage has been sufficiently assessed.
Considering replacement
If repair is unsuitable, we discuss the available next steps. Whether and how replacement can be carried out is established according to your motorhome's model and equipment.
Planning takes account of the exact glazing specification, the availability of parts and any additional work. Appointment arrangements are confirmed on that basis.
Cab and living area windows need separate consideration
A motorhome windscreen, a cab side window and a window in the habitation body cannot automatically be repaired in the same way. Materials, construction and installation differ between models.
Please enquire specifically about work on living area windows in a motorhome or caravan. Where possible, provide the window manufacturer and model. We will check whether we can offer the appropriate service or whether a specialist is needed.
What is affected?
The glazing: Describe the visible damage and where it is located.
Frame or seal: Mention any issue around the edge, frame or joint.
Latch or mechanism: Let us know if the window does not open or close properly.
Moisture: Tell us if you have also noticed moisture around the window.
A repair is not automatically free of charge
Whether your insurer covers the cost and whether an excess applies depend on your policy and the specific damage. Before authorising work, check any requirements concerning repairer choice, claim notification or approval. We agree the workshop job with you; this does not replace confirmation from your insurer.
Four details that help us plan
A clear description helps reduce follow-up questions and makes it easier to agree on the next steps.
Model & year
Provide the manufacturer, model and year. For a motorhome, details of the base vehicle are also useful if available.
Location & changes
Which window is affected? Where is the damage? When did you first notice it, and has it changed since then?
Special features
Mention known features such as cameras, sensors or heated glazing. These details help identify the correct glass and plan the work.
Your travel plans
Tell us your preferred appointment date and any upcoming departure. We will assess a realistic timeframe for the inspection and potential work.
An overview and a close-up are useful
If you would like to provide photos, include a view of the whole window and a close-up of the damaged area. This makes the location easier to understand. We can agree on how to send the images when needed.
Photos do not always replace an on-site inspection. A firm assessment of repair suitability or the full scope of work may therefore require us to examine the damage in person.
Agree on costs and arrangements
Before you authorise work, we discuss the proposed services and how costs will be calculated. If the inspection identifies further needs, we agree the additional steps with you.
If you need transport during the workshop visit, mention this in advance. Availability and terms are agreed separately.
Replacement vehicle serviceGlass repair FAQs
Can every stone chip be repaired?
No. Repair suitability depends on factors including the affected glazing, the location and the extent of the damage. We assess the specific damage before recommending a repair.
Is a photo enough for a firm assessment?
Photos provide initial guidance. However, they are not always sufficient to assess repair suitability and the full scope of work reliably. An on-site inspection may be necessary.
Do you also work on caravan windows?
Please enquire specifically about this service and identify the model and affected window. We check whether we can offer the required work based on its material, construction and damage.
Will my insurance make the glass repair free?
This cannot be promised for every case. Cover, any excess and applicable requirements depend on your policy and the specific damage. Please clarify these points with your insurer before authorising work.
Will the repaired area be invisible afterwards?
A completely invisible repair cannot be guaranteed. We discuss the expected result for your glazing after the assessment.
What happens if replacement is needed?
We discuss the available options for your model, taking the glazing specification, equipment and parts availability into account. The scope and timing are then agreed with you.
Should I mention cameras or sensors on the windscreen?
Yes. Include any known equipment features in your enquiry. We clarify whether additional work is needed and how it can be carried out for your particular motorhome.
How do I arrange an appointment?
Use the workshop form to describe the glass damage and your motorhome or caravan. We will contact you to discuss arrangements. Your preferred appointment is only booked once we have confirmed it.
Damaged glass? Enquire about a suitable solution.
Tell us which window is affected and describe the damage. We will discuss the next steps for your motorhome or caravan in Milmersdorf.
